Harlow Timber Systems move into the specialist manufacture of Feature Trusses - namely Oak or Douglas Fir has seen their customer base broaden. It's this diverse customer base that has given Harlow Timber Systems the market edge on the full package market.With the increase in ever more unique houses being built we are seeing a renaissance in the Oak features within the design of the house. "The customer is looking long term at their investment and not for re-sale to the housing market," said Mr Stockill.
The market for specialist trusses supplied within the roof space is growing and looks set to continue for some time.
Architects and Building designers are reverting back to the traditional look within the design of the house, this is allowing modern design skills and materials to be used, to produce a product of high quality that can be seen and admired.
The use of timber such as Oak and Douglas Fir in a wide range of sizes allows the product to be used in greater areas. Large spans can now be achieved, ranging from 3500mm upto 10500mm spans trusses.
The product can be treated in house and delivered to site for immediate installation without the delay on site. Specialist metalwork can be supplied on the trusses to reasemble the traditional bracket construction and saddle stap. Today, the connection of the timbers are done by hidden bolts junctions and threaded bars.
The product is used in a varity of situations, namely sun rooms, kitchens, bedrooms and simming pools. They are widely used for the space they provide within the room area of the building. The vaulted ceiling or open effect produces the elusion of open space.
