HARLOW TIMBER SYSTEMS DESIGNS SPECIALIST PANELS

The brief was to design a panel that was to be fixed to the outside brickwork and be able to recieve a special brick render in between face fixed hardwood panels. The spandrel was designed using 4" timber frame panel fitted with 9mm plywood to both faces, breather membrane and a special plaster board called "Blue Clad" a water resistant 12.5mm thick board. On top the panels were fitted Maranti hardwood strips 25mm thick x 125mm wide with a chamfer on all edges. The fixings were counter sunk and fitted with external fixed pellet.
The Ridge and Purlin supports were cut out of the frame to recieve the feature Purlins as shown. The whole framed panel was fixed with lifting straps enabling the Client to lift and fit in one function.
